2017 Honda Pilot at Reedman Toll Honda of Downingtown

If you are in the market for a crossover SUV that has three rows of seats, then the Honda Pilot is well worth your consideration. It is roomy enough for eight passengers, has versatility built into its design, and it can even tow up to 5,000 pounds. For 2017, Honda has made Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available in the Pilot. In addition, an 8-inch touchscreen has been added to all trim levels except the LX. You can enjoy the large touchscreen to navigate your trip, to stream your favorite music, and to stay connected with your smartphone. There is so much more to the 2017 Honda Pilot. Keep reading to learn more!

Under the Pilot's Hood

All trim levels of the 2017 Honda Pilot come with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, capable of 280 horsepower and 262 lb-feet of torque. The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission, although the two highest trims upgrade to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, although four-wheel drive is optional across the entire lineup. Standard on all trims except the LX is a traction management system. This system offers a snow mode for better traction. All-wheel drive versions can also have additional modes added, such as sand and mud, for more precise traction. Automatic stop-start technology is also added to the two highest trims. As mentioned earlier, the Honda Pilot can tow up to 5,000 pounds (with four-wheel drive and proper equipment). With front-wheel drive, the Pilot can tow 3,500 pounds.

Design of Honda Pilot

If you prefer an SUV over a minivan, the Pilot is a great substitute since it offers three rows of seats and holds a maximum of eight people. The 2017 Pilot comes in five trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and Elite. The most affordable trim, the LX, still offers a host of valuable features for its price. It comes with A/C, cruise control, a five-inch display screen, a rear backup camera, a 60/40-split folding third-row seat, a seven-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, keyless ignition, power locks and windows, and more. Moving up to the EX adds more convenience and safety features such as remote start, heated exterior mirrors, foglights, LED running lights, tri-zone automatic climate control, the larger 8-inch touchscreen, an upgraded sound system, Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility, and more. The EX-L creates a more luxurious ride for its driver and passengers by adding leather seating, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other enhancements include a sunroof, second-row seats that slide easily with one touch, and a power tailgate. Finally, at the top tier, the Touring and Elite includes any number of luxury and hi-tech features such as a memory driver seat, a panoramic sunroof, a 10-speaker audio system, a rear entertainment system with a Blu-ray player, HDMI and RCA ports, and two additional USB ports for the second row, just to name a few. And to top it off, in the Elite trim, your passengers can be treated like royalty while they rest in the comfort of their heated captain's chairs. These chairs do change the seating capacity to seven, though.

Does the 2017 Honda Pilot come with four-wheel drive?
