Honda Expands Takata Airbag Recall to Include Additional 2003-2004 CR-V Models

In May, 10 different manufactures, including Honda, recalled more than 30 million vehicles for replacement of frontal airbags made by major parts supplier Takata. Last week, Honda announced that approximately 127,000 inflators, installed in 2003-2004 CR-V models, have been added to the recall (15V-370).

The main issue is in regards to degradation of a metal cartridge loaded with propellant wafers, inside the airbag's inflator. The wafers may burn too rapidly, resulting in excess pressure within the inflator body, create a potentially hazardous situation...
