What can you tell us about the Passport's Powertrain?
Under the hood of every 2019 Passport model, you will find the same engine taking care of business! This 3.5-liter direct-injection V6 engine generates up to 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Honda pairs this engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission for a more thrilling drive. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain configuration but you can opt the available all-wheel-drive configuration for more control on those tough terrains or in bad weather! All your towing needs are met with the Passport's maximum capacity of 3,500 pounds with FWD and 5,000 pounds with AWD.Â
How does the Passport handle on and off the road?
Let's talk a little bit more about the all-wheel-drive system. This i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system is unlike many of the competitors as it utilizes active torque vectoring to send up to 70% of the engine's torque to the rear axles and then 100% of that torque to the left or right rear wheels. This technology allows the Passport to deliver excellent handling in all terrain conditions. Both FWD and AWD Passport models are outfitted with Intelligent Traction Management (ITM). In FWD models this system offers two modes, normal and snow. Great for those winter months and massive snow storms! In AWD applications, this four-mode ITM system works in conjunction with i-VTM4 so that drivers can customize the powertrain performance for different terrain and weather like sand, snow, and mud. Further enhancing this SUV's capabilities are the standard all-season tires that allow you to take on new adventures year-round!Â
What else can you tell me about the Passport?
Honda offers the adventurous Passport in four trim levels for the 2019 model year. They include the Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. The upper trim levels build on that with features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, a sunroof, satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, power-adjustable and heated front seats, a hands-free liftgate, front and rear parking sensors, a 10-speaker sound system, and more!Â
