What engine is in this Honda?
The used Honda Pilot has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower available and 262 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic. The Touring and Elite models are paired with a nine-speed automatic. All models also have the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. They both come with a traction-management system to help when on slippery surfaces. The Eco mode can also be used to save on fuel by shutting off half the cylinders. The EPA gave the highest fuel economy rating to the nine-speed automatic with front-wheel drive. This fuel economy is 20/27 miles per gallon.
What do the different trim levels offer?
The Pilot has five trim levels. The base trim level is the LX and it comes with air-conditioning, 18-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, a 5-inch central display screen, a USB port, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a rearview camera, and Bluetooth. The next level is the EX with LED running lights, automatic headlights, foglights, three-zone automatic climate control, remote engine start, heated mirrors, an 8-inch touchscreen, and Intelligent Traction Management. The EX-L offers a sunroof, leather upholstery, a power tailgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a one-touch sliding second-row. The Honda Sensing package is available to the EX and EX-L trims adding forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, a forward collision warning system, a road departure intervention system, and a navigation system. The Touring adds roof rails, 20-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, ambient interior lighting, automatic engine stop-start, and a 10-speaker sound system. The top trim is the Elite with automatic high-beam headlight control, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row captain's chairs.
How many safety features are available for the Pilot?
The Honda Pilot comes with a five star safety rating from the NHTSA. The standard features are a collision mitigation braking system, a road departure mitigation system, a lane keeping assist system, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot information system, and a cross traffic monitor. The cross traffic monitor uses sensors that are found in the rear corners of the Pilot and helps to alert you when other vehicles are approaching. An intelligent traction management can also be used to optimize the Pilot's handling on a variety of different terrains. When your vehicle concludes that a frontal collision is inevitable that collision mitigation braking system kicks in and applies brake pressure to stop automatically.
